Overview

cRIO-M1553 interface module for the National Instruments CompactRIO™ embedded systems and R Series expansion chassis provide high-performance simulation for a wide variety of industrial, in-vehicle and laboratory MIL-STD-1553 interfaces. Each module can operate in one of the following modes: Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor (BM). In RT mode it is possible to simulate up to 4 remote devices.

Advanced Features

The cRIO-M1553 module is controlled by a high speed C51-series compatible CPU, provides up to 4 MIL-STD-1553 RT devices or one BC or one BM. Output buffers support both direct and transformer coupled physical levels.

Bus Controller provides the following features:

  • Programmable control over: Intermessage gap times, Response time-out and late response;
  • Insert aperiodic messages into a running BC list;
  • Full error detection: Invalid word, late response, bit count error, early response, high word, low word, no response, inverted sync, incorrect RT address, manchester, parity error.

Remote Terminal provides the following features:

  • Multiple RT simulation (up to 4 RTs).
  • Data generation
  • Status words.

Bus Monitor provides the following features:

  • Capture 100% fully loaded bus traffic with: Time-tagging, Error status, Word status, Message status, RT response time
  • Multiple filtering and triggering options: By individual RT/subaddress, Transmit, receive or broadcast mode codes, Internal triggering.

CompactRIO™ MIL-STD-1553 interface modules are directly connected to reconfigurable I/O (RIO) FPGA hardware. This provides high-performance embedded systems with flexible a custom electrical circuit completely dedicated to your I/O application.

The RIO FPGA hardware provides unlimited options for timing, triggering, synchronization and decision making.
